MEASURING WATER USAGE
Mr Buckley's room did lots of work using maths to calculate how much water we use everyday and through the year.
We calculated how much each person uses and came up with an average.
Then we multiplied by the number of people using the school - adults and children.
We looked at how we could save water and how much we could save at home too.
Water is precious!
See our slideshow below ....

Maths Trails

This year we updated our maths trails around the school.
We measured all our rooms and the playground in steps and in metres.
See a maths trail for 2nd and third class below.

Estimating

Junior and senior infants planted sunflower seeds in April. They had to estimate how many handfuls of soil were needed for each pot. Then they got to find out if they were right!  .

Rockets

Mr Buckley's room estimated, measured and compared how far their rockets would go when fired.
